Dmitry Khamzin

Dmitry comes from Perm (Russia), where he completed his dance training at the renowned ballet school (Perm State Choreography School).

For 9 years he was a soloist at the Moscow Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theaters. He then went to Essen (Germany) where he danced in the Alto Ballet Essen company for two years. Dmitry has worked with many well-known choreographers, such as P. Lacotte, J. Neumeier, J. Elo, N. Duato, Y. Grigorovich, David Dawson, Stijn Celis and Marco Goecke. In the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons he danced with the Zurich Ballet. Dmitry made his long career as a successful dancer together with his wife Anna Khamzina, who also danced as first soloist at the Zurich Ballett.

While still in Moscow, Dmitry developed his first own choreographies, which he presented at international competitions for young choreographers.
